You are amazing. Yes, YOU! Look at what you have accomplished to get to this very point in your life. ~ Patricia Foster

As we approach the end of 2014, it is a useful time to inhale, exhale and look at our accomplishments and victories that got us where we are today. If you search within, You’ll see that you have so much to celebrate.

I am very grateful that I have a lot to celebrate from 2014:

I have been invited to participate in numerous events this year as a Poet, Coach, Speaker and Workshop Facilitator, in The UK and Jamaica.
Included is the successful Every Woman Inspired conference in Jamaica.

I practice as a qualified Life Coach (Dip NMC), focusing on Life Transitions.

Additionally I have the privilege of offering healing as a certified Reiki Practitioner.

I have been invited to present, deliver workshops and speak at my church, as well as working with the youth group.

I have also been made Sable Litmag Poet-in-Residence, with a year long residency and lots of exciting initiatives and events to look forward to.

To top it all, I have had exquisite, quality time with my family in The UK, Jamaica and The USA.

However, at times, it may not look as if we have a lot to celebrate.

It has been a challenging and arduous road for many. Some of us this year have experienced the loss of loved ones – myself included. We have adjusted our lives to accommodate our losses, found the strength to support others, held each other’s hands through the darkness. Sometimes, we have been the light to help others on their forward journeys. For others, again myself included, numerous life changes and transitions have made life journeys more burdensome.

It is possible our own personal challenges can strengthen us to achieve wonderful accomplishments.

How deep down did you have to dig to find your inner strength? It’s amazing what we actually have to celebrate in our lives.

What are your personal highlights? What can you show gratitude for?
Showing gratitude for what you have or what you have accomplished, is proven to create an abundant mindset. It also forces us to focus on abundance and not lack.

Please leave comments or list below your accomplishments and what you are grateful for, however big or small!

To peace, love, happiness and your success in 2015.

“Strategically working and partnering with the transitioning YOU; to transform YOU to where your dreams, desires and highest human potential are.

Guiding YOU towards the place where you can confidentially unleash and reveal the True, Authentic YOU!”
~ Patricia Foster McKenley

WHY CHOOSE TRANSITIONAL AND TRANSFORMATIONAL COACHING?

For many, life can be one, long bumpy road of huge life transitions, such as:

Child birth or child rearing,

Finding a new school for your child/children

Studying or exams

Transition from graduate to successfully employed

A change in job or career

Relocating yourself or family to another country or city

The journey taken after redundancy

From single, to engaged, to being married

Relationship changes, separation or divorce

Major illness, injury or surgery – yourself or a loved one

Changes in your financial circumstances and all that entails

Dealing with life after bereavement

A journey of the mind; moving from limiting beliefs, to positive self talk and higher self-esteem

There may be many obstacles – mental and emotional – which also occur along on this road. The transitioning process can be arduous and draining, time consuming, eroding one’s self esteem at the same time.

Coaching helps you explore the inner tools, actions and solutions needed to journey through your transition.
Consequently, you will unlock the ability to transform your thinking and self belief.

The transformation process will include helping you to identify and establish your ultimate dreams, goals and desires, then transform you towards your personal success and highest potential through your behaviours, actions and belief systems.

MY SUPPORT FOR YOU

My aim is to guide, amongst many, Women, Girls, Sensitive Children and Creative Practitioners to ease your transitioning, helping you receive clarity of thought about what your goals are, to create positive, highly effective habits and facilitate your transformation.

Reiki Healing – What is it All About? By Patricia Foster

Creating Positive Shifts in your Life

In 2012, I received my Reiki Level 2 certificate! I am thoroughly pleased to be a certified Reiki Practitioner, as I love the benefits of Reiki Healing, as well as delivering it. I also receive an incredibly sense of wellbeing, as does the recipient.

Reiki finds its origins in Japan and is a way of directing Universal Healing Energy to a client through a healer/practitioner. It has mutual, positive benefits for the client as well as the healer. It also promotes relaxation, wellbeing and reduced stress, as well as healing on many levels (emotional and physical) in recipients.

The Reiki Healing tradition was developed in Japan by Dr. Usui and allegedly brought to the West by Mrs Takata. Many Reiki practitioners and scholars have identified parallels between traditional Christian healing and Reiki. For further information about Reiki practices, visit http://www.reiki.org/

I can safely say that I have experienced many positive changes during my Reiki journey thus far. I have also received many positive and startling feedback from recipients of my Reiki healing sessions.

Quote of the Day, by Patricia Foster: ‘Acceptance, Patience and Love Towards Others’

20140412-123527.jpg
In our modern style of living and busyness, it is very easy to lose sight of where a friend or loved one is in their life. To misunderstand the journey they are on. To have little or no concept of what they are going through.

For those experiencing pain or personal challenges, reaching out to another can be extremely difficult.

This week, two high profile young twenty-somethings – Peaches Geldof, daughter of Sir Bob and the late Paula Yates (25) and Karyn Washington, founder of forbrowngirls.com (22) – were both found dead on 7th April and 8th April respectively. At the time of writing this blog, tests are still being carried out on Peaches and Karyn apparently committed suicide.

In my line of work with young people, I often rely on intuition to gauge if someone is in need of support. A listening ear, or by removing our own judgement of another, is usually all it takes to help that friend or loved one get back on track.

Who could do with your listening ear today?

Please feel free to leave a comment and share.

Black History Month – A Welcome Celebration

Black History Month – A Welcome Celebration

20130916-135101.jpg
Performance at the Southwark Libraries Black History Month Poetry Slam, 8th October 2011

In schools, libraries, youth centres and community groups across The UK, Black History Month provides an insight into African Caribbean communities, traditions and their cultural flavours.

In The UK, the month of October is a highly anticipated time for celebration, acknowledgement and education. The recognition of African Caribbean people who have contributed to British History and British present. Facts from over the centuries, that go way back, beyond June 22nd 1948, when Empire Windrush set sail from Jamaica to Tilbury with her Caribbean citizens from the former British Empire.

I look forward to taking part in a few events during Black History Month. It has always been a pleasure to do so over the years. I am still taking bookings for:

  • Poetry and Identity Workshops
  • School Poetry Workshops
  • Storytelling Workshops
  • ‘Celebrating People in Black History Using Multimedia’ Workshop
  • Poetry Readings
  • Have a great October!
